2023 Purchase/Claim Incentive

HBPA of Alberta Purchase/Claim Incentive The HBPA of Alberta is happy to bring back the purchase/claim incentive for 2023 with a few changes to the program: The HBPA of Alberta will pay 50% or up to $7,500.00 whichever amount is less, on claims or purchases from a public sale made outside of Alberta. Claimed horses must not have ever ran in Alberta and claim prices must be minimum $3,000 claim tag. In the event horses claimed or purchased in the US, the Canadian to US exchange will be treated as par. 3 year old and up - The amount owing to the owner will be paid out equally (25%) over the horses first 4 starts for 3-year-old and up. If the horse fails to get 4 starts over the course of Century’s Alberta race meets, it will receive the prorated rate. Shipping Incentive for 2023 season

HBPA 2023 SHIPPING INCENTIVE The HBPA of Alberta Directors are thrilled to announce the following program to eligible participants!  The HBPA may amend the program from time to time. Eligibility: Applicants must be an individual, corporation, or partnership. $1,500 bonus to any horse brought to Century Tracks for the 2023 racing season. -Horse must not have started in Alberta prior to the 2023 racing season. $1,500 will be paid out as $500 per start for the first three starts made at Century Tracks. If a horse is claimed or transfers ownership before the full amount is paid, out the original owner will acquire the whole bonus. Registration papers for all applicants will be held in the race office and will only be released at the conclusion of the 2023 race season. If a request is made to remove the papers before the end of the meet all Incentive payments made to that horse will need to return to the HBPA bookkeeper

2023 ALBERTA BRED AND ALBERTA SIRED PROGRAMS

The Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association of Alberta are excited to announce the following programs to our eligible participants in 2023! ALBERTA BRED PROGRAM The HBPA of Alberta would like to announce an Alberta Bred 2 and 3 year-old Maiden Special Weight program for the 2023 race season at Century Mile Racetrack.  HBPA, in agreement with Century Mile’s Race Manager, will write 3 year old colts and geldings, and 3 year old fillies Alberta-Bred Maiden special weight, once a month with a purse of $35,000.00 for May, June, and July.  For August, September, and October there will be one per month of 3 year old Alberta Bred Maiden Special Weight. There will also be a 2-year-old Alberta-Bred Maiden combining colts and fillies, once a month with a purse of $35,000.00 from July through October. *Races must contain a minimum of 6 entries before being considered.   The HBPA of AB reserves the right to combine, cancel, or change scheduling of these races
