THE HBPA OF ALBERTA ANNOUNCES ANOTHER NEW INCENTIVE FOR 2022! Mare Proposal The HBPA of Alberta Directors in agreement with CTHS of Alberta are excited to announce the following program to our eligible participants starting in 2022. This program is open to an Alberta resident who have purchased in the sales ring at a recognized public auction outside of the Province of Alberta, a Thoroughbred mare in foal to a Thoroughbred stallion that will foal in 2022. The application can be obtained from the CTHS Alberta website: cthsalta.com. All applications to be sent to CTHS at email@example.com. The purchase price of the mare must be $5,000 or more. For the purposes of this program, purchases in US Funds will be considered at par, i.e., $1 USO= $1 CND. MORE INCENTIVES FOR OWNERSHIP FOR THE 2022 SEASON! The HBPA of Alberta’s Directors are excited to announce the following program to our eligible participants starting in 2022. The HBPA may amend the program from time to time. HBPA of Alberta’s Purchase/Claim Incentive The HBPA of Alberta will pay 40% or up to $5,000.00 whichever amount is less, on claims or purchases from a public sale made outside of Alberta. Claimed horses must not have ever ran in Alberta, and claim prices must be minimum $5,000 claim tag. In the event horses claimed or purchased in the US, the Canadian to US exchange will be treated as par. The amount owing to the owner will be paid out equally (25%) over the horses first 4 starts. If the horse fails to get 4 starts over the course of Century’s Alberta race meets, it will receive the prorated rate. In the event the horse is claimed on any of the first 4 starts,

The Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association of Alberta are excited to announce the following programs to our eligible participants in 2022! The HBPA may amend programs from time to time. ALBERTA BRED PROGRAM The HBPA of Alberta would like to announce an Alberta Bred 2 and 3 year-old Maiden Special Weight program for the 2022 race season at Century Mile Racetrack. HBPA, in agreeance with Century Mile's Race Manager, will write 3 year old colts and geldings, and 3 year old fillies Alberta-Bred Maiden special weight's, once a month with a purse of $35,000.00. We will also be writing a 2-year old Alberta-Bred Maiden special weight fillies and colts/geldings, once a month with a purse of $35,000.00. *Races must contain a minimum of 6 entries before being considered. The Extra Mile Owner Appreciation events are designed to create opportunities to engage and network with current owners and thank them for their continued support of racing. Loyal owners are the foundation of the sport. They have a base level of knowledge, provide stability for breeders, trainers and stables and can be a significant factor in attracting new owners. These events will celebrate and recognize owners for their dedication to racing.
