HBPA of Alberta Announces New Manager/Executive Director

Introducing Mr. Mike Vanin - Manager/Executive Director HBPA of Alberta Announcement of New Manager   The HBPA of Alberta is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Vanin as our new HBPA of Alberta Manager/Executive Director. Please join us in welcoming Mike as he starts his new position on Monday January 10th.  Mike will be replacing Mr. Allen Goodsell, as Mr Goodsell moves into the Racing Manager position at Century Mile.  There will be a transition period until March 1st. Mr Vanin has been involved in the horse racing industry for 25 years.  Mr Vanin has been licensed and involved in many capacities of Exercise Rider, Gate crew, jockey valet, Owner/Breeder, and Manager of Bar None Ranches.  Mike served two terms on both the CTHS National board as well as the Alberta CTHS board serving in an executive role on both boards. THE HBPA OF ALBERTA ANNOUNCES ANOTHER NEW INCENTIVE FOR 2022! Mare Proposal The HBPA of Alberta Directors in agreement with CTHS of Alberta are excited to announce the following program to our eligible participants starting in 2022. This program is open to an Alberta resident who have purchased in the sales ring at a recognized public auction outside of the Province of Alberta, a Thoroughbred mare in foal to a Thoroughbred stallion that will foal in 2022. The application can be obtained from the CTHS Alberta website: All applications to be sent to CTHS at The purchase price of the mare must be $5,000 or more. For the purposes of this program, purchases in US Funds will be considered at par, i.e., $1 USO= $1 CND.
