Horsemen’s Survey for 2023 Century Downs Racing

Survey Regarding 2023 Century Downs Racing Century has made the HBPA of Alberta aware of their plans to hold spring training and a spring meet at Century Downs in 2023.  During our HBPA General meeting, the pros and cons were discussed, as well as the possibility of asking for a fall meeting instead of a spring meeting.  The decision was made to put out a survey to all Thoroughbred racing participants to get feedback on what the membership prefers.  Please answer the survey as completely as you can so that the Directors of the HBPA can represent you to the best of their abilities. Race Day Experience Sponsorships 2022

The HBPA of Alberta presents RACE DAY EXPERIENCES! The HBPA of Alberta Directors have been working diligently to think of ways to promote live racing and bring more people to the races!  We have come up with some "Race Day Experience" sponsorship packages to do just that!  Race season 2022 is all about giving people the live racing experience and leaving them wanting to come back for more. Each one of these groups will be hosted by members of the HBPA and will include the handing out swag, learning to wager, and fall in love with horse racing.  These packages are a great way for your businesses to bring staff to the races and award them with a fantastic day!

HBPA of Alberta Announces New Manager/Executive Director

Introducing Mr. Mike Vanin - Manager/Executive Director HBPA of Alberta Announcement of New Manager   The HBPA of Alberta is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Vanin as our new HBPA of Alberta Manager/Executive Director. Please join us in welcoming Mike as he starts his new position on Monday January 10th.  Mike will be replacing Mr. Allen Goodsell, as Mr Goodsell moves into the Racing Manager position at Century Mile.  There will be a transition period until March 1st. Mr Vanin has been involved in the horse racing industry for 25 years.  Mr Vanin has been licensed and involved in many capacities of Exercise Rider, Gate crew, jockey valet, Owner/Breeder, and Manager of Bar None Ranches.  Mike served two terms on both the CTHS National board as well as the Alberta CTHS board serving in an executive role on both boards.
