Introducing Mr. Mike Vanin – Manager/Executive Director HBPA of Alberta
Announcement of New Manager
The HBPA of Alberta is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Vanin as our new HBPA of Alberta Manager/Executive Director.
Please join us in welcoming Mike as he starts his new position on Monday January 10th. Mike will be replacing Mr. Allen Goodsell, as Mr Goodsell moves into the Racing Manager position at Century Mile. There will be a transition period until March 1st.
Mr Vanin has been involved in the horse racing industry for 25 years. Mr Vanin has been licensed and involved in many capacities of Exercise Rider, Gate crew, jockey valet, Owner/Breeder, and Manager of Bar None Ranches. Mike served two terms on both the CTHS National board as well as the Alberta CTHS board serving in an executive role on both boards.
Outside of horse racing, Mr Vanin has been working in a management position since 2013 in a diverse list of industries. His role included licensing, marketing, training, and sales. Mike has extensive experience with managing staff, budgeting, payroll, and health and safety.

Mr. Vanin would like to extend a message to the Directors and the members:
I am incredibly humbled to have been chosen by my peers for this role, I am excited to hit the ground running and serve all the Horsemen and women in Alberta. Horse Racing is at a pivotal moment in time not only in Alberta but the industry as a whole and I look forward to making a difference with my time at the HBPA.
