Purchase/Claiming Incentive 2025
-50% of the verified purchase price up to $7,500.00 is available per horse for 2025.
-Funds will be paid out equally at 25% per start for the first four starts in 2025 made at Century
racetracks for older horses. 2-year olds they will be paid out the 50% based on 2 starts only.
-All owners applying for the 2025 HBPA claiming/purchase incentive must have a bill ofsale on
file in the Century race office. The bill of sale must be verified and match the owner applying for
the incentive.
-Bill of sale must match the initial claiming/purchase price and purchase prices must be verified via
a public source i.e. auction house or racetrack claim.
-Horses must be claimed from a racetrack or purchased at a public auction house outside of
Alberta. No Private Sales are allowed.
-Bill of Sale must be on file in the race office at the time the registration papers are submitted in
order for the application to be considered.
-Applicants must be an individual, corporation or a partnership.
-Horses 2-years old and up as of January 1st 2025 qualify.
-Horses must be claimed/purchased for a minimum $3,000 to be eligible.
-Horses must have never started in Alberta as of opening day at Century Mile in 2025
-Horses cannot be Alberta Bred
-Horses must be claimed/purchased between the dates of August 20th, 2024 and May 5, 2025.
-Horses are required to run only at Century Racetracks 2025 race meets; The HBPA reserves the
right to restrict registration papers in the Century race office.
-Horses looking to race in Stakes races with a purse of $40,000 and above can and must apply for
permission to make one start outside of Century Racetracks for 2025. The HBPA reserves the right
to approve or deny these requests based on horse population
-Horse must have at least one start at Century Racetracks 2025 Race Meet prior to June 30th, 2025
to be eligible
-Application Deadline is June 30th, 2025
-This Program is on a first come first serve basis. Not All applications will be approved and ALL
applications are contingent with the HBPA receiving funding for this program.
-Any Racing age horses Claimed/Purchased out of British Columbia are excluded from this program.
(Yearlings purchased at the 2024 CTHS BC sale will qualify for the 2025 HBPA Incentive program)
-This program is for 2025 only and no funding or starts will be carried over from year to year.
**Any Owner/Trainer that does not abide by the stipulations provided for this incentive can be
requested to pay back any and all funds that have been dispersed. The HBPA reserves the right to
garnish these fundsfrom an owners account.**
