Friday Highlights


Friday provided some great racing with major stakes and significant upsets. CLASSY CITY, trained by Craig Smith, took the Western Canadian Handicap as a 16-1 longshot for jockey Rasheed Hughes and owners Highfield Investment Group. This marked the first major Canadian Derby prep of the season. The Chariot Chaser Handicap saw a 26-1 winner in Maramax, giving trainer Alivia Kettleson her second stakes win of the season.
